Bring in the New Years with These Upgraded Traditional Foods

What are your New Year's Day Plans? Mine are to relax, hang out with my hubbie and cook a quick and easy New Years' meal. I'm cooking the traditional black eyed peas, cornbread and cabbage. But my recipes have been upgraded to give your body a boost and delight your tastebuds.

I know growing up I HATED the smell of boiling cabbage and therefore would not even think about tasting it. To me, when you boil it, it becomes so bitter, it doesn't matter how much bacon you add to it…Did you know that raw green cabbage actually has a sweet taste? I'm not lying! My fav way to cook cabbage is to shred it and roast it with fresh chopped garlic. It 12 minutes you have a delicious crunchy side that you can eat like chips :)

I encourage you to give cabbage another try, what do you have to lose?

Other of my favorites is cornbread. Check out my healthy cornbread recipe to satisfy your tastebuds and nourish your body. Start the New Year out right.

Cheers to a year of health and good wealth!
